I etched some pint glasses for my boyfriendeous person for his birthday/going away present. I used this stuff.
What's really rather unfortunate is visible on the two glasses on the left. Even though I left like an inch between the design and the edge of the tape/stencil, and even though I was absolutely sure I didn't get any of the noxious goo outside of the taped part, it still somehow etched outside the tape. Vapors maybe? Anyway, next time I am totally covering the whole thing in contact vinyl.
On an image-manipulation note, I have started attempting to use GIMP. It's been kind of an uphill climb so far, one where the keyboard shortcuts are all different and I will inadvertently try to use one I'm familiar with and totally screw myself over. That and I can't really find anything I'm looking for. HOWEVER, my hopes are high because 1) it is not as un-intuitive as I thought it would be and 2) it comes for the low low unbeatable price of FREE, which is just marvelous when all I ever use Photoshop for is levels and cropping. I don't need to pay $500 for that.
